You can use medical marijuana to treat a variety of different conditions. But what is the price range of medical marijuana?

Did you know that roughly one hundred eighty-eight million people around the world are regular cannabis users? One of the reasons the popularity of the substance has increased are the medical benefits that come with it. Millions of people rely on medical marijuana to deal with the symptoms of numerous conditions.

If you’re curious about medical marijuana, then you’re probably wondering how much it costs. Luckily, we’ve organized this article to help you find out how much it is near where you live. Let’s get started!

Why Should Get a Medical Marijuana Card in Canada?

Cannabis has been recreationally legal in Canada since 2018. So exactly why would you want a Medical Marijuana Card in the country? There are two main reasons. First, recreational weed in the country tends to be incredibly expensive. Second, the quality of the cannabis itself often leaves a lot to be desired.

A medical marijuana card can help with both of these. It puts you in contact with licensed producers (LPs) who can offer a top-end product to you at a slight discount.

In some cases, you can also get medical marijuana covered by your private Canadia insurance company. However, the best way to control quality is to grow cannabis. A medical marijuana card can help with this too. The amount of plants you can grow depends on which licence you get. However, it’s typically more than enough for the average person.

What’s the Price of Medical Marijuana in Canada?

Because provinces and territories are responsible for regulating cannabis sales, it leads to some differences in price across the country. To help you get an idea of the averages, we’ve organized the prices by individual provinces and territories. Keep in mind that these prices are the averages from the area.

It’s further complicated by the fact that many private sellers don’t list their prices. The actual price can change due to factors like quality, private dispensary and the form purchased (pre-rolled, edibles, oral sprays, etc.). For a full review of the laws in each province and territory, make sure to consult our full guide here.
